We understand the familiar saying\u2014stuck between a rock and a hard place. And that’s where Moses and the people of Israel found themselves when they got trapped between Pharaoh\u2019s army and the Red Sea. Someone said the Israelites predicament was like when “a lawyer who specializes in suing doctors for medical malpractice suddenly finds himself in need of major surgery.\u201d But Moses turned their attention off their circumstances and back onto the LORD.<\/p>\n

God’s power had been dramatically portrayed over and over again for the Israelites while they were in Egypt. But God was about to let them witness and personally experience yet another dramatic deliverance that is even familiar to those who have almost no knowledge of the Bible\u2014the parting of the Red Sea. All they needed to do was stand by and watch their God at work. Although these untrained and unequipped Israelites were no match for Pharaoh’s crack troops and chariot force, Moses proclaimed the coming destruction of the Egyptian soldiers, boldly promising that they would never see them again.<\/p>\n

God’s plans are not limited to what is humanly possible. The Israelites coming to the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army behind them was just as much a part of God\u2019s plan as crossing it. A predicament in God\u2019s able hand is only a highway to the Promised Land. Why does God allow these predicaments to happen in our lives? It is usually because it takes something like a tight place to get us to see our need and look to Him for help.<\/p>\n

“LORD, we look to You to get us out of the corners that we will paint ourselves into today, in Jesus’ name.”<\/em><\/p>\n

1 <\/span>And the <\/span>LORD<\/span><\/span> spake unto Moses, saying, <\/span><\/span>2 <\/span>Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baal-zephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea. <\/span><\/span>3 <\/span>For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They <\/span>are<\/span><\/span> entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. <\/span><\/span>4 <\/span>And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I <\/span>am<\/span><\/span> the <\/span>LORD<\/span><\/span>.
