So Eleazar and Ithamar ministered as priests in the presence of Aaron their father.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As believers, we wonder what acts today God would consider as offering profane fire. Aaron\u2019s sons seem to have been guilty of deciding to worship God in a way that called attention to themselves, perhaps they were even under the influence as they were leading God\u2019s people, ignoring His careful instructions of how to come into His presence.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps today profane fire would be anything that waters down the Bible, the whole Word of God. For instance, never speaking about judgment on sin would be misleading people with regard to God. As would speaking of a gospel that offers another way of salvation other than through Jesus, a way the Bible does not allow for.<\/p>\n<p>If we want to be the people of God, we need to pay careful attention to God\u2019s written Word. We need to beware of offering profane fire that might endanger unbelievers by keeping them from safely coming into God\u2019s\u00a0presence through His Son Jesus Christ. God is not in the business of striking people down who misrepresent His word, but it is possible to grieve the Holy Spirit. God has chosen to speak to a dying world through us, giving us the great privilege of introducing unbelievers to His offer of salvation by grace through faith.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLORD help us to clearly and accurately represent You this day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>=============================================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numbers 3 KJV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0These also\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day\u00a0<em>that\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0LORD\u00a0spake with Moses in mount Sinai.\u00a0<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0And these\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.\u00a0<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0These\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest\u2019s office.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>4<\/sup>\u00a0And Nadab and Abihu died before the\u00a0LORD, when they offered strange fire before the\u00a0LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest\u2019s office in the sight of Aaron their father. <sup>5<\/sup>\u00a0And the\u00a0LORD\u00a0spake unto Moses, saying,\u00a0<sup>6<\/sup>\u00a0Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.\u00a0<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.\u00a0<sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.\u00a0<sup>9<\/sup>\u00a0And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.\u00a0<sup>10<\/sup>\u00a0And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest\u2019s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. <sup>11<\/sup>And the\u00a0LORD\u00a0spake unto Moses, saying,\u00a0<sup>12<\/sup>\u00a0And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;\u00a0<sup>13<\/sup>\u00a0Because all the firstborn\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>mine;\u00a0<em>for\u00a0<\/em>on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I\u00a0<em>am\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0LORD. <sup>14<\/sup>\u00a0And the\u00a0LORD\u00a0spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,\u00a0<sup>15<\/sup>\u00a0Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.\u00a0<sup>16<\/sup>\u00a0And Moses numbered them according to the word of the\u00a0LORD, as he was commanded. <sup>17<\/sup>\u00a0And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.\u00a0<sup>18<\/sup>\u00a0And these\u00a0<em>are<\/em>the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.\u00a0<sup>19<\/sup>\u00a0And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.\u00a0<sup>20<\/sup>\u00a0And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.\u00a0<sup>21<\/sup>\u00a0Of Gershon\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the families of the Gershonites.\u00a0<sup>22<\/sup>Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward,\u00a0<em>even\u00a0<\/em>those that were numbered of them\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>seven thousand and five hundred.\u00a0<sup>23<\/sup>\u00a0The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.\u00a0<sup>24<\/sup>\u00a0And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>Eliasaph the son of Lael.\u00a0<sup>25<\/sup>\u00a0And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,\u00a0<sup>26<\/sup>\u00a0And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof. <sup>27<\/sup>\u00a0And of Kohath\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the families of the Kohathites.\u00a0<sup>28<\/sup>\u00a0In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward,\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.\u00a0<sup>29<\/sup>\u00a0The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.\u00a0<sup>30<\/sup>\u00a0And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.\u00a0<sup>31<\/sup>\u00a0And their charge\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof. <sup>32<\/sup>And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>chief over the chief of the Levites,\u00a0<em>and have\u00a0<\/em>the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary. <sup>33<\/sup>\u00a0Of Merari\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the families of Merari.\u00a0<sup>34<\/sup>\u00a0And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward,\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>six thousand and two hundred.\u00a0<sup>35<\/sup>\u00a0And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari\u00a0<em>was<\/em>Zuriel the son of Abihail:\u00a0<em>these\u00a0<\/em>shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.\u00a0<sup>36<\/sup>And\u00a0<em>under\u00a0<\/em>the custody and charge of the sons of Merari\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,\u00a0\u00a0<sup>37<\/sup>\u00a0And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords. <sup>38<\/sup>\u00a0But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east,\u00a0<em>even\u00a0<\/em>before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward,\u00a0<em>shall be\u00a0<\/em>Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.\u00a0<sup>39<\/sup>\u00a0All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the\u00a0LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward,\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>twenty and two thousand. <sup>40<\/sup>\u00a0And the\u00a0LORD\u00a0said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.\u00a0<sup>41<\/sup>\u00a0And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I\u00a0<em>am\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.\u00a0<sup>42<\/sup>\u00a0And Moses numbered, as the\u00a0LORD\u00a0commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.\u00a0<sup>43<\/sup>\u00a0And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen. <sup>44<\/sup>\u00a0And the\u00a0LORD\u00a0spake unto Moses, saying,\u00a0<sup>45<\/sup>\u00a0Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I\u00a0<em>am\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0LORD.\u00a0<sup>46<\/sup>\u00a0And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;\u00a0<sup>47<\/sup>\u00a0Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take\u00a0<em>them:<\/em>(the shekel\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>twenty gerahs:)\u00a0<sup>48<\/sup>\u00a0And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.\u00a0<sup>49<\/sup>\u00a0And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:\u00a0<sup>50<\/sup>\u00a0Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money;
