That is still true today in the kingdom of God. When we look around, we can see mighty men and women of God who are still doing brave exploits for Jesus, the King of kings. Although we might first think of \u201cbig name\u201d people who are up in front, in the limelight, God is probably looking elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Our God waits for us to take His promises seriously and to boldly go out to share His grace with others. He will back us up with all the resources of heaven, and He is far stronger than anything the enemy can throw at us. God&#8217;s mighty warriors are determined people serving a mighty God. They are the men and women of God serving as undercover missionaries in war-torn Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Sudan. They are men and women from closed countries who have chosen to leave the safety of the West and go back and share the good news in their home countries. They are people of God, quietly but firmly, sharing the good news in China, Vietnam, and Pakistan. And they are the men and women who choose daily to speak about Him in their home, school, and work.<\/p>\n<p>A one-legged schoolteacher from Scotland, George Scott, once came to J. Hudson Taylor to offer himself for service in China. &#8220;With only one leg, why do you think of going as a missionary?&#8221; asked Taylor. &#8220;I do not see those with two legs going,&#8221; replied Scott. He was accepted, and many listened and were saved in Africa because of his determination.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;LORD, give us Your heart of courage to step up and be men and women of God to others this day.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>=============================================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Chronicles 11 KJV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>thy bone and thy flesh.\u00a0<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou\u00a0<em>wast<\/em>he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the\u00a0LORDthy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<sup>3<\/sup>Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the\u00a0LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0by Samuel.\u00a0<sup>4<\/sup> And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which\u00a0<em>is<\/em>Jebus; where the Jebusites\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>, the inhabitants of the land.\u00a0<sup>5<\/sup>\u00a0And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>the city of David.\u00a0<sup>6<\/sup>\u00a0And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>9<\/sup>So David waxed greater and greater: for the\u00a0LORD\u00a0of hosts\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>with him.\u00a0<sup>10<\/sup> These also\u00a0<em>are\u00a0<\/em>the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom,\u00a0<em>and\u00a0<\/em>with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0concerning Israel.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>11<\/sup>\u00a0And this\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain\u00a0<em>by him\u00a0<\/em>at one time.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>12<\/sup>\u00a0And after him\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who\u00a0<em>was one\u00a0<\/em>of the three mighties.\u00a0<sup>13<\/sup>\u00a0He was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>14<\/sup>\u00a0And they set themselves in the midst of\u00a0<em>that\u00a0<\/em>parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the\u00a0LORD\u00a0saved\u00a0<em>them\u00a0<\/em>by a great deliverance.\u00a0 <sup>15<\/sup>\u00a0Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.\u00a0\u00a0<sup>16<\/sup>\u00a0And David\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>then in the hold, and the Philistines\u2019 garrison\u00a0<em>was<\/em>then at Beth-lehem.\u00a0<sup>17<\/sup>\u00a0And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth-lehem, that\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>at the gate!\u00a0<sup>18<\/sup>\u00a0And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that\u00a0<em>was\u00a0<\/em>by the gate, and took\u00a0<em>it\u00a0<\/em>, and brought\u00a0<em>it\u00a0<\/em>to David: but David would not drink\u00a0<em>of\u00a0<\/em>it, but poured it out to the\u00a0LORD,\u00a0<sup>19<\/sup>\u00a0And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with\u00a0<em>the jeopardy of\u00a0<\/em>their lives they brought it.
