O LORD, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!&#8217; So the LORD struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>King Asa of Judah saw the tremendous Ethiopian army arrayed for battle against him. They outnumbered his troops almost 2 to 1 and even had chariots. Wisely, Asa felt the need to pray. If we have not already, we will all eventually find ourselves in similar tight straits. You know, like that time when you thought you were secure, with money in the bank, good health, and a future that looked bright and rosy; and then suddenly you found yourself outnumbered and up against a circumstance too big for you to handle.<\/p>\n<p>Asa reminded himself, and God, of the reality of the problem: &#8220;It is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power.&#8221; Asa&#8217;s prayer of faith was centered on God&#8217;s power and desire to save; and he was right, as God miraculously delivered Judah from the Ethiopian army. God has not changed and is still both powerful enough and interested enough to answer when we call on Him today. Pray in faith and expect Him to answer.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;LORD, don&#8217;t let us fail to be what You want us to be this day.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>=============================================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 Chronicles 14 KJV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.\u00a0<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0And Asa did\u00a0<em>that which was\u00a0<\/em>good and right in the eyes of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0his God:\u00a0<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0For he took away the altars of the strange\u00a0<em>gods\u00a0<\/em>, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:\u00a0\u00a0<sup>4<\/sup>\u00a0And commanded Judah to seek the\u00a0LORD\u00a0God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.\u00a0<sup>5<\/sup>Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.\u00a0<sup>6<\/sup> And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the\u00a0LORDhad given him rest.\u00a0<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about\u00a0<em>them\u00a0<\/em>walls, and towers, gates, and bars,\u00a0<em>while\u00a0<\/em>the land\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>yet before us; because we have sought the\u00a0LORD\u00a0our God, we have sought\u00a0<em>him\u00a0<\/em>, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.\u00a0<sup>8<\/sup>\u00a0And Asa had an army\u00a0<em>of men\u00a0<\/em>that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these\u00a0<em>were\u00a0<\/em>mighty men of valour. <sup>9<\/sup>\u00a0And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.\u00a0<sup>10<\/sup>\u00a0Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.\u00a0<sup>11<\/sup>\u00a0And Asa cried unto the\u00a0LORD\u00a0his God, and said,\u00a0LORD,\u00a0<em>it is\u00a0<\/em>nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O\u00a0LORD\u00a0our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude.
