Acts 22:10–11: “So I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ And the Lord said to me, ‘Arise and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all things which are appointed for you to do.’ And since I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus.”

As Paul shared his testimony in Jerusalem, we see that during his conversion he asked Jesus, God the Son, two questions. And they are good questions that every man, woman, and child should ask God and then be obedient to His answer. God has promised, “Seek me and I will be found.” And Paul’s first question was, “Who are you, Lord?” and the simple answer was “Jesus.” Paul’s second question, “What shall I do, Lord?” had another simple answer, “Arise, go, and I will tell you.” We need to simply do the same.

When it comes to speaking about God, your testimony is always solid ground. You are the world’s greatest authority on what Jesus Christ has done for you and how He has changed your life. Paul was able to speak with absolute sincerity and conviction as he recounted his story. You and I have the same opportunity whenever we share our story with those around us who need life.

We love the story from India of a Hindu, who had recently become a believer in Jesus Christ, on his way to church one Sunday carrying his Bible. He passed some British soldiers who thought they would joke with him. “Hello, Sammy,” they called. “How’s Jesus this morning?” The Indian stopped and looked at them. “You Sahibs come from a great country that has known Jesus a long time. It is your country that has given us this book to teach us of Him,” and he held up his Bible. “You ask how Jesus is this morning. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Two of the soldiers could not sleep that night. The next day they went to the new believer and confessed, “We could not rest until we gave ourselves to Jesus. Your words brought us to him.”

“LORD, give us the courage of Paul to share Your life with others today.”
