Exodus 35:17–18: “the hangings of the court, its pillars, their sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court; the pegs of the tabernacle, the pegs of the court, and their cords;”
December 9th, 2022 by Pastor Ed in devotionalDetails, details, details! It is interesting in this section that every detail of the tabernacle is mentioned, even down to the tent pegs and cords. Nothing was too small a detail or too trivial a factor for the Lord. Matthew 10:30–31 reminds us that even the “hairs of [our] head are numbered” and that we “are of more value than many sparrows.” Even tiny hairs and tiny birds get the attention of our Father God!
In the Jerusalem market place, sparrows were sold for food to only the poorest of poor people. Sparrows were very small, common, inexpensive birds. It doesn’t seem like they would be very important to God. But we serve the God who takes notice of every detail of His creation. The lesson here, though simple and uncomplicated, is weighty and has far-reaching implications for our lives. Everything done on planet earth is significant to God. God sees everything. He is interested and remains concerned. God is “in the details” of your life and mine. Because we all struggle with personal weaknesses, we all need to seek Him to help us in every detail, every single day, with total confidence, knowing He cares.
“LORD, we need You to keep all the details of our lives in order for us this day.”
