Fellow pilgrims …
Over on the devotional page we are approaching the end of the book of Genesis … the book of Origins. You probably have figured out the approach we use of reading a new chapter each day and looking for the main idea that the Holy Spirit seems to be saying at this time. Usually it is difficult for us to pick one main idea from so many possibilities within the chapter. We know God will show you that it could easily go in several different directions. As He leads, follow! We hope that you are reading a new chapter each day with an expectation of receiving some fresh thing from the Lord. A quick prayer as you start to read of, ‘Lord, please speak to me now’, when prayed from the heart, yields spiritual fruit.
Lord willing, we are going to go back and forth between the Old Testament and the New, one book at a time. So when we finish Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament, we will then start in the first chapter of Matthew. When we finish Matthew, we will switch back to the Old Testament and do the first chapter of Exodus. Since the Old Testament has 929 chapters and the New Testament has 260 and if Jesus doesn’t come before (‘Come Lord Jesus!’) we should finish the Bible in about 3.5 years or precisely 1189 days (thanks Jim!). Let’s walk together with Him through His word.
In His Grip,
Pastor Ed
