  • Pilgrims and fellow strangers in the land…

As we approach a new year we are also approaching the first book of the bible, Genesis, the book of Origins. We will read a new chapter each day and look for one main idea from that chapter. Usually it is difficult to pick only one main idea from so many possibilities within the chapter but we know God will show you what to focus on each day. The first five books make up the ‘Torah’ or Pentateuch attributed to Moses; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Then we move on into the historical twelve books from Joshua through Esther. If you have never done so before, try a quick prayer as you start to read… something like, ‘Lord, please speak to me now,’ and He will answer. Since the Old Testament has 929 chapters and the New Testament 260 and if Jesus doesn’t come before (‘Come Lord Jesus!’) we should finish the Bible again in about 3.5 years. Let’s walk together with Him through His word.
