Adventures and ventures in faith…
On the Daily Devotional study through the Bible we are finishing the book of Deuteronomy or the ‘Second Law.’ Now again, as has become our habit, we are turning to the next New Testament book, ‘The Acts of the Apostles.’ Some have called the Book of Acts the most exciting Book in the New Testament and it definitely is full of fascinating surprises. God seems to delight is doing things unexpectedly so that His children will not be tempted to put Him in a box. We understand that God is not able to be used for humanity’s own purposes but He does allow us to join in His. Acts is not as much a book of ‘how to’ as much as a record of ‘how He’ did minister through His people in ways they never would have expected. It is breathtaking record of how the Creator of the Universe condescends to use humble and broken servants in ventures of faith that change the course of human history. And He has not changed one bit has He?! His eyes run too and fro searching the earth for yielded servants to participate with Him in adventures and ventures in faith. We don’t want to simply be spectators sitting in the stands watching but active, fully engaged participants in His quests for more souls. Keep advancing towards His light …
