So how well did the Gospel take hold in the first century?
As we finish the Gospel of John we then come to the Book of Acts, a very critical one for our understanding of the rapid development of the early church. If the Book of Acts was missing from the New Testament we would read the ministry of Jesus ending in John and next we would find a book by a guy named Paul writing to followers of Jesus in Rome. That would be a very confusing read since we would have no information about how the gospel got from Jerusalem to Rome. This fascinating Book written by the physician Luke answers these questions and many, many more. Keep asking God to reveal Himself to you as we read through this book a chapter a day.
