More Grace
The more we become aware of the reality and necessity of God’s GRACE in our life the more we see the word ‘GRACE’ in the New Testament and in the world around us. It appears 170 times in the Bible and there it generally means to get something good that you do not deserve. Closely linked to God’s GRACE is God’s MERCY which generally means you do not get a punishment that you deserve. Since it has been on our mind so much lately let’s consider this one verse and try to apply it today…
Hebrews 4:16 ‘Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.’
Someone approached us after a service this week and said, “I don’t do this, and I don’t do that, and I am following this set of rules.” We immediately recognized that they know very little about the grace of God. Without realizing it they are saying that they are trying to live the Christian life in their own strength. But Paul the Apostle says, “Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
